The COVID-19 pandemic has lead to a need, and in many cities a legal demand, to wear protective face masks when in public. With the demand has come the request of many fans across the globe for a cool, fun way to represent their fandom while staying safe and complying with the ordinances. While many companies have started to offer printed face masks customized with characters and logos, Gabriel Ramirez of Pro Wrestling Revolution took it one step farther.
Teaming with a lucha libre mask maker out of Guadalajara, Mexico, Ramirez launched Lucha-Masks.Com to bring fans not only the regular style printed masks, but also premium masks made of authentic lucha libre mask materials. While the lineup of masks started with his own luchador creations who wrestle in PWR and the Pro Westling Revolution World Champion, Ultimo Dragon, the company’s long time relationship with Masked Republic opened doors to officially license some of the brands and luchadores represented by the company’s Legends of Lucha Libre division.
Currently available at Lucha-Masks.Com are The Lucha Brothers, Penta Zero M (Pentagon Jr.) and Rey Fenix, as well as a Perros del Mal logo mask. he company also released a limited edition mask for Supreme, who passed away last week, with 100% of the profits from the sales of his masks going directly to his wife and son. Additional officially licensed masks will be available soon.
After making the licensing deal with Masked Republic, Ramirez began extending invitations to luchadores outside of the PWR core, and this coming Monday, May 18th, an official L.A. PARK mask will be available.
