AEW held a media briefing with the AEW‘s co-Executive Vice President Cody road to the Full Gear PPV. Lucha Central was among the press invited to this media briefing.
Cody Rhodes began by saying that it is an honor for him to continue working to offer fans the best entertainment in these difficult times. Noting that AEW has a great card for Full Gear, this event being their return to AEW PPV. “Full Gear will be my event”, declared Cody road to his AEW TNT Championship defense against Darby Allin.
“You haven’t beaten me in any of our three previous matches and you won’t beat me now. I’ve gained about 14 pounds, so if you couldn’t beat me sooner now much less”, was the message Cody sent to Darby Allin.
Cody said he was happy to be able to use the name Cody Rhodes but will not use it for now. “In the ring I will remain Cody, and I will not use the Rhodes last name. Where I will use it will be in other projects that we are preparing”.
“Tony Khan has a great relationship with Billy Corgan and we consider Serena Deeb to be very talented. It’s about building bridges so that everyone can enjoy talent”, commented on the relationship between AEW and NWA.
Cody also commented that he was upset that he was not a part of the PWI 500 and that any wrestler who says he doesn’t care about the top cannot become a successful wrestler.
