At the end of the All Out PPV, AEW held a media scrum in which the AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida, the AEW World Champion Jon Moxley and the AEW owner Tony Khan participated, who gave their impressions about the event and current affairs of the company. Lucha Central was among the press invited to the event.
The first to participate was Hikaru Shida who said in Japan, professional wrestling isn’t so big and she’s really happy because so many people watch her match and she can reach everyone all over the world.
When asked about what it was like to work with the NWA World Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa, she replied that it was so tough, says she wanted a strong, tough and passionate challenger but Thunder Rosa is more than that. La Mera Mera knew the Japanese style well so she was just trying to stay strong, that was her thinking.
Shida ended her participation by saying that she would like to face Nyla Rose again for the title because Nyla is ranked number one, and she wants to face her. Also names Big Swole. Says there are so many wrestlers she wants to face and she’s ready for anyone.
Jon Moxley began his participation by saying he’d like to see a partnership of some kind between AEW and NJPW. “It’s not like we’ve got to be married at the hip, but maybe a NJPW guy shows up here or some of our young guys go over there for a tournament”.
Scott Fishman of the Miami Herald asked Moxley if he would like to work at other companies like Thunder Rosa did, to which the AEW Champions replied saying that he loves the idea and 2020 was going to be “crazy ambitious” for him. His plan was to take “that bitch … that belt all over the world” and tour.
When asked about the possible incorporation of Renee Young to AEW, Moxley said “She doesn’t want to be near my corner with all the blood and shit”. Says Renee has a lengthy non-compete clause.
In his first replies Tony Khan said that he says he’d love to bring Thunder Rosa back if NWA permits.
Joel Torres from Contralona asked about the Latin talent but especially about the Puerto Rican, Khan said we will see more of Santana and Ortiz, and would love to bring more stars from Puerto Rico.
Justin Schlegel from the 98 Rock Morning Show asked about the Twitch plug and AEW‘s official stance on fighters’ secondary and tertiary sources of income. Tony Khan said that it has come up recently and he doesn’t want people to worry about Twitch or appearance money, but he says there are gray areas.
