The latest edition of AEW Dynamite from Norfolk turned into a true roller coaster of emotions, where Latin American luchadores left an indelible mark thanks to the talent showcase of star figures like Bandido and Andrade el Ídolo, who proved why they are fundamental pillars of the international scene.
Brodido Conquers the Summit in Norfolk
The night kicked off with an unpredictable clash for the number one contendership for the AEW World Trios Championship. On one side, “Hangman” Adam Page joined forces with the imposing Brody King and the charismatic masked luchador Bandido (forming the alliance known as Brodido) to face The Conglomeration.
The match was a true feast of agility and brute strength. Bandido dazzled the audience with his mat wrestling, escaping complex situations, connecting spectacular arm drags, and culminating a dizzying sequence with a powerful one-arm military press followed by a devastating Ace Crusher.
Despite desperate attempts by Orange Cassidy and Roderick Strong to tip the scales—including interventions and combined moves like the Doomsday Device—the contest was decided when chaos took over the ring. After multiple interferences and suicide dives, a lethal Buckshot Lariat by Adam Page sealed the victory by pinfall for Brodido, earning them the right to challenge for the championships at the upcoming All Out event.
War Without Quarter: United Empire vs. Death Riders
On the other hand, the action heated up when United Empire—composed of Will Ospreay, Andrade el Idolo, and Francesco Akira—faced off against the dangerous Death Riders faction (Jon Moxley, Gabe Kidd, and PAC).
From the opening minutes, the intensity gave no quarter. Andrade el Idolo brought his signature sophisticated and lethal style, delivering memorable moments with the crowd and connecting a fulminant double-knee combo after a strategic tag from Ospreay. The frenetic pace continued with dives to the ringside, mat-based striking exchanges, and Akira‘s aerial prowess.
However, the experience and roughness of the Death Riders weighed heavily in the crucial moments. Following an illegal intervention by Wheeler Yuta that distracted the referee, Jon Moxley capitalized to connect the Paradigm Shift on Francesco Akira and secure the victory by submission via the bulldog choke.
Far from ending there, the tension continued when Moxley refused to release the hold, prompting an immediate reaction from Andrade el Idolo, who broke the submission and helped clear the ring alongside Ospreay, making it clear that the rivalry is hotter than ever heading into the company’s upcoming commitments.
