WWE Monday Night RAW Latino Review: Penta becomes World Championship #1 Contender, Dragon Lee Pursues the IC Title, Raquel Rodriguez Retains, and More

Published August 31, 2026

The latest edition of WWE Monday Night RAW was a showcase for Latino talent. With three high-profile matches on the card, luchadores did not just headline the show—they walked away having locked in spots in the company’s biggest upcoming title bouts.

Fratricidal War: Penta Wins Tournament Final and Confronts Roman Reigns

The main event delivered an epic brother-versus-brother showdown: Penta vs. Rey Fenix in the tournament finals to determine the #1 contender for the WWE Men’s World Championship. The Lucha Bros left everything inside the ring, putting on a violent and emotional war that featured a Penta Driver through the announce desk and a grueling Sacrifice armbar on Fenix.

Despite Fenix‘s heroic display of resilience—even telling his brother to finish him off—Penta delivered a definitive Mexican Destroyer to secure the pinfall victory. Following a emotional post-match embrace between the brothers, the celebration was cut short by the arrival of World Champion Roman Reigns. The two squared up in the center of the ring, where Penta flashed his signature ‘Cero Miedo’ gesture before the champion answered by holding up his index finger, setting the stage for a blockbuster championship collision in Mexico City.

Dragon Lee Earns Intercontinental Title Shot

Dragon Lee‘s dynamic style and resilience earned him the opportunity of a lifetime after defeating ‘All Ego’ Ethan Page to become the #1 contender for the WWE intercontinental Championship. The bout was a rollercoaster ride where Lee had to fight from behind, taking heavy punishment outside the ring while dealing with Chad Gable hovering around ringside.

In the closing moments, Page attempted to cheat by removing a turnbuckle pad to throw the Mexican superstar chest-first into the exposed steel. However, the referee—alerted by Gable‘s distraction—waived off the pinfall attempt after spotting the exposed buckle. Lee capitalized on the confusion to connect with his signature finish, Operation: Dragon, scoring the three-count to seal his title shot.

Raquel Rodriguez Retains the Women’s Intercontinental Championship

In the women’s division, Raquel Rodriguez proved why she is a dominant force by successfully retaining the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship against the impressive Sol Ruca. The match was an instant clash of styles: Ruca‘s acrobatic agility and outside moonsaults pushed the champion to the limit. However, Rodriguez‘s brute power ultimately sealed the outcome.

After ringside chaos sparked by interference from Roxanne Perez, Liv Morgan, and Lyra Valkyria, Rodriguez seized the distraction to catch Ruca and finish her with a devastating Texana Bomb, securing the pinfall victory and keeping the title firmly around her waist.
