An Army of Masks for Dominik Mysterio: Lucha Libre Folklore Invades WrestleMania in Las Vegas

Published April 20, 2026

Under the neon lights of Allegiant Stadium, the roar of over 55,000 souls turned into an expectant silence as the notes of a modern corrido announced the arrival of the Lucha Libre AAA Mega Champion, Dominik Mysterio. However, he did not arrive alone. In one of the most imposing visual displays in the history of “The Showcase of the Immortals,” a phalanx of 26 real luchadores escorted the “King of Luchadores” on his way to the ring to face Finn Bálor.

Once WWE had created the concept for the entrance, Director of WWE Latin America and Vice President of Content and Development, Jeremy Borash, called on Masked Republic, a company known for expanding lucha libre and lucha culture beyond the borders of Mexico.

The Strategic Connection

To ensure the authenticity that the Lucha Libre AAA Mega Champion demands, WWE did not look for conventional extras. Jeremy Borash contacted Masked Republic directly to recruit talent that embodied the true essence of lucha libre. Ruben Zamora and Kevin Kleinrock, pillars of the company, worked side-by-side with WWE producers to coordinate an entrance that blended respect for tradition with high-level entertainment.

The Masked Warriors Army

The formation was led by a contingent that has stood out in the Mexican indie circuit, featuring figures who have made waves in both the independent and professional scenes:

  • Spider Fly
  • Noisy Boy
  • Rayo Star
  • Anubis
  • Principe Leon
  • Sonico
  • Gravity
  • Fatal
  • Enigma
  • Enigma Jr.
  • Skalubur
  • Kamikazee
  • Calibus

Also from Masked Republic affiliated Pro Wrestling Revolution (PWR) luchadores, the alliance reinforced the presence of California and border-style wrestling. Among the PWR masked men were:

  • Yaskue
  • Viento
  • Ultra Aero
  • Diablo Azteca
  • Espantapajaros
  • Kid Lynx

In a gesture of respect to the industry, PWR promoter Gabriel Ramirez was also one of the masked men in the entrance, sporting his hood alongside his trainees.

Emerging Talent on the Grandest Stage

The list of masked warriors was completed by names currently carving their own paths in international rings: Gino Rivera, Adrian Quest, Chris Nasty, Jake Redondo, and Brian Choobin.

The entrance served not only to cement Dominik Mysterio‘s status as a global star bridging Mexico and the United States but also consolidated Masked Republic as the vital link for the essence of the mask to continue conquering international territories. On night two of WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas didn’t just see wrestling; it saw an army of identity.
