Earlier today, Andrade trended on social media after dropping “WWE” from his Twitter handle.

WWE has not commented on the matter, but according to information from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the request was denied.

Andrade signed with WWE in November 2015 , debuting on NXT in January 2016 under the ring name of Manny Andrade. In NXT he was the first luchador to win the NXT Championship, while the main roster won the WWE United States Championship against Rey Mysterio at the Madison Square Garden in New York City.
