You may remember that not too long ago that Baba-G Productions and the El Rey Network, both the production company and television network respectively of Lucha Underground, were hit with three different lawsuits. Two of the lawsuits were filed on behalf of El Hijo del Fantasma and Texano Jr. seeking financial damages, while the final lawsuit was a class action suit filed on behalf of Fantasma, Ivelisse, Joey Ryan and Kobra Moon seeking their releases from the promotion. Tonight, Lucha Central can report that the battle between the two sides is over, with Texano withdrawing his lawsuit while a settlement has been reached between Baba-G Productions/El Rey Network and Fantasma, Ivelisse, Ryan and Moon. While not all terms have been disclosed, the class actions suit has been dropped with the agreement that Fantasma, Ivelisse, Ryan and Moon will be immediately released from their contracts, allowing them to be free agents immediately. Fantasma’s separate lawsuit has also been dropped as part of the agreement.

“I’m honored to say that we received 100% of the relief that we were suing to obtain and four young talented wrestlers are no longer bound by an unfair contract that prohibits them from taking full advantage of their talents at the prime of their career,” said attorney Andre Verdun, who represented the talent in these cases. “I wish them all the best of luck.”

Lucha Central has learned that Texano’s withdrawal from the lawsuit was prior to the settlement, and he is not expected to depart from AAA as Fantasma did this week. The settlement does free up Fantasma, Ivelisse, Ryan and Moon (who also wrestles as Thunder Rosa) to negotiate and work with whoever, a huge deal for Fantasma who will surely be courted by WWE  amongst other promotions. Ryan meanwhile is expected to sign with All Elite Wrestling, where he has a strong relationship with higher ups the Young Bucks (he is a frequent contributor on their Being the Elite program) while Kobra Moon will continue to work for AXS TV’s Women of Wrestling program and Ring of Honor. No word on what Ivelisse’s plans are at this time, though it’s likely she will have suitors as well.
