It feels like the LA Park vs. Rush feud has been everywhere at this point. The rivals have squared off (either one on one or in trios action) in CMLL, Lucha Libre Elite, The Crash, MDA in Monterrey, DTU (albeit in a co-promoted show with The Crash) and several other lucha libre promotions over the past several years. Now you can add yet another promotion to the list in the form of the International Wrestling Revolution Group, aka IWRG. The fourth biggest promotion in Mexico will be hosting Park and Rush in just a few weeks in Arena Naucalpan, where Park will team with his son, Hijo de LA Park, to face Rush and his brother Dragon Lee.
The bout will in fact be a rematch of an excellent tag match from a Tortas Super Astro show last July, where Park and son defeated the Munoz’ by disqualification. A similar result is likely to occur here, which shouldn’t stop Arena Naucalpan from getting super hyped for this confrontation. Not only will they be seeing the hottest feud in lucha libre right now but this will also be the first appearances for either Park or Rush under the IWRG banner in a LONG time. The Chairman hasn’t appeared for the promotion since 2015, back when he and Dr. Wagner Jr. looked to be on a collision course for an Apuesta match. Rush meanwhile hasn’t appeared since 2009, so long ago that he was then known as Latino! I’d say the name change worked out.
The Park-Rush rivalry comes to Arena Naucalpan and IWRG on June 17th and will likely be available on YouTube shortly after the show. After that, the only question left to ask is how soon AAA can book a Rush-Park match. That’s all that’s left at this point, right?
