Last week Lucha Underground was rocked by two separate lawsuits, one filed on behalf El Hijo del Fantasma seeking damages (as first reported by Ryan Satin) and a class action lawsuit filed on behalf of Fantasma, Ivelisse, Joey Ryan and Thunder Rosa (Kobra Moon) in attempt to get them out of their contracts. Since then we’ve all been wondering when/if someone would join them. We now have our answer. Lucha Central has learned that AAA luchador and former LU star Texano Jr. has filed a lawsuit against El Rey Network and Baba-G Productions, Lucha Underground’s network and production company. The lawsuit, almost identical to Fantasma’s, seeks actual and putative damages and alleges that Texano hasn’t been paid by Lucha Underground since 2016.

The son of lucha libre legend El Texano, Texano Jr. began wrestling for Lucha Underground in 2015 during their first season. He last appeared for the promotion at Ultima Lucha Tres (taped June of 2016, the same time he claims to have been last paid) when he lost a handicap match to Famous B and Dr. Wagner Jr., who won the rights to become Texano’s manager with the victory. Though mentioned by Famous a few times afterwards, Texano did not appear in season four and has since worked a few dates for Impact and continues to work AAA, where he is one half of the AAA Tag team Champions with Rey Escorpión.  Despite not appearing for LU since 2016, he appears to have still be under LU deal and has yet to be granted a release. Though Lucha Central cannot confirm it at this time, it’s likely Texano will join Fantasma, Ivelisse, Ryan and Rosa in the class action lawsuit to get out of his deal.
