What can I say tonight’s CMLL Tuesday show that hasn’t already been said about…every other CMLL Tuesday show sports fans? It was lame, it was mostly boring and I actually almost fell asleep. And I never fall asleep during these shows. If you did actually succumb to CMLL exhaustion, here’s what you missed.

Retro & Sangre Imperial defeated El Cholo & Yago two falls to one after Retro pinned both rudos after a top rope splash. This match flew by…and thank goodness because aside from Yago the talent here was nonexistent! CMLL fortunately kept things short though and the match wasn’t a bother.

Metálica, Reyna Isis, Seductora defeated La Guerrera, La Jarochita, Maligna two falls to one after Metálica pinned Jarochita with a Swanton Bomb and then pinned Guerrera with a Tiger Driver. This match left such an impression on me that I almost forgot to do a write up for it! Never a good sign when that happens. The effort level did seem to be a bit up but the talent wasn’t there. Even Guerrera and Metálica, probably the two best workers in this match, were off tonight, especially against each other. It never got to the point where it was atrocious but this was nowhere close to good and a little too long. Definitely an easy skip.

Magia Blanca, Pegasso, Star Jr. defeated Cancerbero, Raziel, Universo 2000 Jr. two falls to one after Star Jr. pinned Raziel with a Running Shooting Star Press and Pegasso pinned Cancerbero with a Yoshitonic. A solid match! I think it needed a little more oomph to make it good but I enjoyed myself. Star Jr. was excellent, as he has been prone to be in recent days. It’s a shame CMLL sees nothing in him because he not only seems to be putting it all together but is still only in his early 20’s; he’s a potential star if CMLL or someone else ever realizes it. Everyone else was a notch below him but still decent. Magia Blanca in particular had one of his better outing since returning from injury.

Guerrero Maya Jr. defeated Fuego in a Lightning Mach at the 6:25 mark after pinning Fuego with Sacrificio Maya. These guys tried really hard but I can’t say this match was much better than fine. I don’t know if I’ve just tuned out on both guys because they’re unfortunately going nowhere, if it’s because this match has been better in the past or because both Maya and Fuego aren’t quite the performers they were a few years ago but this just didn’t click. What a pity because they were trying and both guys are capable of being really good. It just wasn’t happening here.

Kráneo, Stuka Jr., Volcano defeated Ephesto, Luciferno, Templario two falls to one after Kráneo and Volcano pinned Templario and Luciferno with dueling second rope splashes. This was a bore outside of Stuka Jr., who apparently decided this was a good opportunity to try a bit more than one normally does on a Tuesday. I’m not sure why but I appreciate him at least giving an effort. It’s just a pity it had to come teaming with an unmotivated Kráneo and the untalented Volcano. The rudos themselves added nothing, unless you really wanted to see Templario dressed in a way where he could easily be confused with Oro Jr.

Atlantis, Carístico, Soberano Jr. defeated Felino, Forastero, Mr. Niebla two falls to none after Forastero unmasked Carístico for the DQ. Looks like that match may be happening in two weeks. For real too; CMLL only changes these feuds in Puebla after all! Match was short and thankfully not offensive. Carístico and Forastero is interesting if they get to it, Soberano was Soberano and Felino and Niebla were fine. Atlantis was apparently in this match, which I only noticed cause he was standing out there at the end. Why CMLL continues to book him in these spots is a mystery.
