Tonight’s CMLL Tuesday show was, wait for it, kind of fun. I DON’T BELIEVE IT EITHER! It didn’t get fun until after some super curious booking decisions early in the show, but by the time the semi-main event had stopped being awesome I was like “yup, better than usual.” If you spent your Tuesday inexplicably watching Temptation Island instead, here’s what you missed.

Robin & Sonic the Luchador defeated Inquisidor & Príncipe Odin Jr. two falls to one after Sonic submitted Odin and Robin pinned Inquisidor with a Tiger Bomb. The fourth season of Community was more eventful than this match. Robin and Sonic had a few moments, while also having several others ruined because Príncipe Odin still sucks.

Cancerbero, Nitro, Raziel defeated Oro Jr., Príncipe Daniel, Star Jr. two falls to none after Nitro pinned Daniel following a Piledriver and Cancerbero pinned Star Jr. following a Romero Special/Neckbreaker combo. Aside from this match inexplicably going only two falls and the rudos dominating this wasn’t half bad. The rudos had decent performances and I thought all three technicos looked solid. Flip the result and this was fine. Alas the match is patently ridiculous given the youngsters were squashed for unknown reasons.

Dalys defeated La Jarochita in a Lightning Match at the 7:01 mark. The finish came after Dalys pinned Jarochita following a Sitout Gutwrench Powerbomb. Not the smoothest match I’ve ever seen but the effort from both luchadoras was enough to make this a good match in my book. Both tried really hard and even threw in some dives, with Dalys breaking out a decent Triangle Plancha while Jarochita hit her usual suicide dive. Much better than I expected, even if it could’ve been a little less choppy.

Okumura, Pólvora, Universo 2000 Jr. defeated Black Panther, Blue Panther Jr., Guerrero Maya Jr. two falls to one after Pólvora pinned Panther after a Shotgun Dropkick and Universo pinned Junior following a powerbomb. Decent match; Black Panther finally had a respectable performance after a few tough showings over the last few weeks. This was one of the better performances Universo Jr. has had and Junior once again looked great dishing out backbreakers. Nothing earth shattering but this was well worked and wound up a solid, respectable effort from everyone involved.

Audaz, Flyer, Soberano Jr. defeated Kawato San, Rey Bucanero, Templario two falls to one after Soberano pinned Templario with a Code Red and Flyer pinned Kawato following a Spanish Fly. There will not be many matches on CMLL’s Tuesday show better than this one. An absolute joy of a match; not everything they hit was flush but the creativity was off the charts (especially from Soberano and Audaz), there were two separate dive trains and some utterly spectacular moments, like Audaz’s Dragonrana off the apron and an arm drag variation I have never seen before. All three technicos looked great and the rudos hung with them every step of the way, with Kawato and Bucanero likely having their best performances of the year. This is worth going out of the way to see; great match.

Atlantis, Mistico, Valiente defeated Ephesto, Luciferno, Valiente two falls to one after Atlantis pinned Mephisto with a Hurricanrana Roll Up. Decent main event; they knew they had no shot of topping the last match and just kept it simple. Mistico continues to suddenly look motivated and impressive out of nowhere. I don’t understand it either.
