It was the same old, same old for CMLL Tuesday tonight sports fans. Most of the matches were forgettable, one match stood out and who really cares because the same damn thing seems to happen every week now! No wonder half the CMLL roster seems prepared to mutiny. If you missed tonight’s show helping the roster plan said mutiny or just got caught up with AEW Dark and NWA Powerrrr, here’s what you missed.

Acero & Aéreo defeated Pequeño Olímpico & Pierrothito two falls to one after Aéreo pinned Olímpico with a Doomsday Device Dropkick and Acero submitted Pierrothito. I’ve seen worse openers! The biggest crime here was that none of the action was interesting. The good news is the work was solid overall, as it usually is with the always underrated Aéreo. Just not enough “oomph” to go along with the work.

La Comandante, Metálica, Reyna Isis defeated La Jarochita, La Vaquerita, Skadi two falls to one after Metálica pinned Jarochita with a Swanton Bomb. Forgettable match overall, although the ending spot was good with Reyna Isis hitting a Double Underhook Pancake on Jarochita to set up the finish. Beyond that this was every other CMLL luchadoras match you’ve seen recently, just with Dalys not there. Thank goodness Dalys wasn’t there!

Disturbio, Pólvora, Universo 2000 Jr. defeated Drone, Oro Jr., Pegasso two falls to one after Pólvora pinned Drone with an Avalanche Pólvora Driver. Another largely forgettable match with a decent ending, as Pegasso and Oro Jr. each combined for some pretty cool dives in the final few minutes. Too bad the rest of the action couldn’t match the excitement. This was definitely a problem with the show early on, as the work was once again solid but the excitement was nowhere to be found outside of a few moments.

Black Panther, Blue Panther, Blue Panther Jr. defeated Dark Magic, Misterioso Jr., Sagrado two falls to one after the Panthers pinned all three rudos at the same time. The only finish that would’ve been better than that is if the Panther’s had submitted all three rudos with Nudo Laguneros at the same time! Alas. Yet again this match finished strong and had very little prior to it. The Panthers put in a respectable effort but they had little to work with, as only Sagrado really tried while Misterioso Jr. coasted and Dark Magic was, well, Dark Magic. Nothing you need to see.

Atlantis, Mistico, Soberano Jr. defeated Ephesto, Luciferno, Mephisto two falls to one after Mistico pinned Ephesto with a Hurricanrana Rollup and Atlantis pinned Mephisto with a Schoolboy. Yet another forgettable match. Mistico and Soberano MAY have had a handful of moments between them, but everything else in this match was like watching paint dry. Ephesto, Luciferno and Mephisto were coasting more than the Yankees in September, while Atlantis continues to wrestle matches he shouldn’t be in. Seriously CMLL; is it that difficult to replace Atlantis with any other technico? Hell you have Atlantis Jr. right there; USE HIM! Atlantis will be in less pain and Atlantis Jr.’s presence alone will make the matches more exciting.

Carístico defeated Forastero two falls to one after submitting Forastero with La Mistica. This was a very good match, just a few notches below the Soberano-Templario match from last Friday. There was one botch early when Carístico didn’t get enough distance on a second rope springboard crossbody, but after that everything went smoothly, with the third fall really taking things to third gear with several great near falls. After struggling in singles matches with Soberano and Cavernario, Forastero once again showed improvement coming off a strong match with Volador a few weeks ago. There’s still room to improve, but he’s getting there, and Carístico was a good opponent in giving him a ton to do. It won’t go down as a highly memorable match from CMLL this year but it was a good watch and easily the best match of the show.
