CMLL was back in Arena Puebla tonight with another show that looked good on paper and topped out at best as “average.” There were the results.

Black Tiger, Hijo de Centella Roja, Meyer defeated Ares, Guerrero Especial, King Rocker two falls to one after Tiger and Meyer pinned Especial and Ares with splashes off the top rope.

Espíritu Maligno, Príncipe Odin Jr., Rey Apocalipsis defeated Oro Jr., Rey Samuray, Tigre Rojo Jr. two falls to one when Odin Jr. submitted Oro Jr. Mediocre match where the rudos looked to give the technicos nothing.

Princesa Sugehit defeated Amapola two falls to one to retain the Mexican National Women’s Championship. Okay match; both luchadoras tried but you could tell this wasn’t what it would’ve been say ten years ago. Sugehit won by submitting Amapola with an Octopus style submission.

El Malayo, Okumura, Olímpico defeated Drone, Lestat, Stigma two falls to one when Okumura pinned Stigma and Olímpico submitted Lestat. Drone had some great moments in this match, so naturally the rudos had to go over. This is why I don’t do a full review of this show anymore!

Ángel de Oro, Mistico, Niebla Roja defeated Cuatrero, Mr. Niebla, Sansón two falls to one when Cuatrero was DQ’d for low blowing Oro. Match was surprisingly intense at times, with Sansón and Mistico having a solid brawl on the floor. After the match Oro challenged the rudos to a rematch next week, which appeared to be accepted by Mr. Niebla.

Volador Jr. defeated Último Guerrero two falls to one when Volador hit the UG with a top rope hurricanrana. If you’ve seen one UG-Volador match you’ve seen them all; there were few surprises, it was very by the book and it was overall pretty good, though not their best match with each other. Tirantes played an annoyingly big part, screwing over UG during several points for reasons only Tirantes can explain.
