Nothing quite says “the weekend’s over” like CMLL’s return to Arena Puebla on Monday evening. Even worse; now the show is taking place on school nights! Luckily a tag team tournament softened the blow tonight with a couple cool moments, though this was still a Puebla show more or less. Here’s the results if you missed it.

Arkalis, Black Tiger, Tigre Rojo Jr. defeated Policeman, Rey Apocalipsis, Toro Bill Jr. two falls to one after all three technicos pinned the rudos following dives. By the numbers opener, with Arkalis looking the best of the bunch.

Audaz, Fuego, Stigma defeated Cancerbero, Disturbio, Virus two falls to one after Audaz submitted Virus with a rolling armbar. Solid match, mostly because Audaz is Audaz. Yet another high effort performance from him. Everyone else was decent, if unspectacular.

Kráneo, Stuka Jr., Volcano defeated Ephesto, Luciferno, Mephisto two falls to one after Volcano pinned Mephisto with a double handspring moonsault. It’s not as impressive as it sounds. Okay match, with Stuka really standing out. Volcano looks to have something, but needs a bit more refinement based off this match.

Gran Guerrero & Último Guerrero defeated Flyer & Volador Jr. with dueling Pulpo Guerrero submissions. Solid outing! Both teams gave a reasonable effort, Flyer had one of his strongest performances in recent memory and the match got a decent amount of time considering what I expected. Pretty good match.

Mistico & Rush defeated Cuatrero & Sansón after Mistico pinned Sansón with a second rope hurricanrana and Rush pinned Cuatrero with the Dropkick de la Muerte.  Match went for a long time and lost my attention, though what I caught was pretty decent.

Gran Guerrero & Último Guerrero defeated Mistico & Rush after Rush was DQ’d for fouling the UG. Fun, if short main event. Seems like a theme for this tournament! Finish seemed to suggest something for Rush and UG next week, but no challenges were issued.
