CMLL returned to Arena Puebla tonight for a better than usual Monday show. Here’s what transpired.

Espíritu Maligno, Fuerza Chicana, Rey Apocalipsis defeated Millenium, Robin, Tigre Rojo Jr. two falls to one when Chicana pinned Millenium after a Cradle DDT. Typical Puebla opener with not much too it; even Tigre Rojo’s 450 didn’t look sharp.

Drone, Star Jr., Stigma defeated Kawato San, Okumura, Policeman two falls to one after Okumura was DQ’d for low blowing Stigma. By the numbers match, with only the interactions between Star Jr. and Kawato standing out. They’re definitely trying to get something going between them and look to have good chemistry. Will CMLL take advantage of it? Probably not!

Dragón Lee, Stuka Jr., Valiente defeated Forastero, Hechicero, Sansón two falls to one after Valiente pinned Hechicero following a Stuka Splash by Stuka. This was fun, especially in the third fall. Dragón Lee, Stuka and all three rudos looked really good, with Valiente being the only one who looked slightly off on some moves. Not sure if it was a truly good match, but it was better than the usual Puebla trios bouts.

Bestia del Ring, Rush, Terrible defeated Atlantis, Carístico, Euforia two falls to none after Rush hit Atlantis with the Dropkick de la Muerte. Not a whole lot to this one as it pretty much existed to set up Rush vs. Atlantis. Hence why Rush challenged Atlantis to a match after, which the legend accepted.

Cuatrero defeated Ángel de Oro two falls to one with a Sitout Crucifix Powerbomb to retain the CMLL World Middleweight Championship. Very, very good match; I’d personally rank it their third best behind the Homenaje a Dos Leyendas match and their title match from a few months ago. These two have tremendous chemistry together and even with some of the usual Puebla restrictions they did a hell of a job. Oro was stretchered out after the match and looked to take Cuatrero’s finisher hard, but it appeared he was merely selling.
