CMLL ran out of Arena Puebla tonight in what looked to be a better than expected show. It was…and it wasn’t. Here are the results.

Espíritu Maligno, King Jaguar, King Rocker defeated Meyer, Millenium, Tigre Rojo Jr. two falls to one with double roll ups in the third fall. Mediocre match.

Astro, Asturiano, Stukita defeated Mercurio, Mini Joker, Saurón two falls to one after Stukita pinned Mercurio after a Stukita Splash. Another average match; technicos weren’t allowed to go all out and thus the match never got out of first gear.

Amapola defeated Princesa Sugehit with the Angel’s Wings in a Lightning Match. Much shorter than I expected. After the match Amapola challenged Sugehit to a title match next week, which Sugehit accepted.

Felino, Puma, Tiger defeated Black Panther, Blue Panther Jr., Esfinge two falls to one after Puma pinned Black Panther following a powerbomb and Felino pinned Blue Panther Jr. following a top rope elbow. It wasn’t their usual standard but still a solid match.

Soberano Jr. defeated Titán two falls to one to retain the Mexican National Welterweight Championship. Great match, though for entirely different reasons than you’d expect. While there were dives, Soberano and Titán mostly worked a slower pace while trading big moves and submissions, with Soberano selling great in multiple leg locks. Soberano survived long enough to hit Titán with a Fire Driver to retain the title. This was probably the best match in Arena Puebla in quite some time and one you should go out of your way to see.

Flyer & Volador Jr. defeated Templario & Último Guerrero two falls to one after the UG fouled Volador in fall three. Good match overall with all four guys doing well, though the match wasn’t as good as the Gran Alternativa Final and was hurt by Tirantes’ constant mugging. After the match Volador challenged UG to a match next week, which UG accepted.
