How badly did tonight’s CMLL Puebla show suck tonight sports fans? I’ll tell you; it sucked so bad that I actually let this results column sit for an hour because I didn’t want to look at it. Why? Because it reminded me of how badly this show sucked; a show that featured the finals of Puebla’s Torneo a Parejas Increibles tournament no less. If you were fortunate enough to miss this shit show (as well as the shit show known as RAW) here’s what happened.

Espíritu Maligno, Guerrero Especial, Sombra Diabólika defeated Astro, Centella Roja, Meyer two falls to one.

El Perverso, Fuerza Chicana, Nitro defeated King Jaguar, Star Jr., Tigre Rojo Jr. two falls to one after Nitro pinned Star Jr. with a Piledriver. This match did nothing to hold my interest, beyond Star Jr. doing a few cool moves. That’s the second match in a row to do that. Strong start for CMLL!

Audaz, Esfinge, Tritón defeated Ephesto, Luciferno, Tiger two falls to one after Tritón pinned Luciferno with a Guillotine Leg Drop and Esfinge pinned Tiger with a Bridging Leg Lock pin. Another forgettable match. The first two falls were super quick for some reason, followed by a third fall that felt watered down compared to what these guys would normally do on a Tuesday or Friday. Audaz had a few cool moments I suppose.

Cavernario, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas defeated Carístico, Soberano Jr., Valiente two falls to none after Niebla pinned Carístico following a foul. This match was so short that I’m pretty sure Carístico’s post match promo challenging Niebla to a match was longer! As such there was nothing to this other than setting up Carístico vs. Niebla, which should be interesting. The brief Soberano-Negro Casas sequence was also good. Why couldn’t we have done that instead? Oh right; they want a bigger stage for that match.

Mephisto & Volador Jr. defeated Niebla Roja & Terrible two falls to one after Volador pinned Terrible with a Backcracker and Mephisto pinned Roja with a top rope Devil’s Wings. Mephisto and Volador win the Puebla Torneo a Parejas Increibles. Joy. This match was a match that existed. At times it looked like these teams were trying hard and at other times it seemed they were as bored as I was. It appeared at first glance the ending may have been botched but after watching a replay it turns out it was just flat. Fitting. This show sucked.
