CMLL’s Puebla show is under new management now that El Tirantes has left for…whatever pastures he’s seeking. At least for the first night it seemed to be business of usual; a lot of mediocre matches with one or two decent things thrown in. If you missed it all because you watch RAW and hate yourself (I kid I kid!) here’s what happened.

El Perverso, Policeman, Tyson La Bestia defeated Centella Roja, King Jaguar, Tigre Rojo Jr. two falls to one after Policeman pinned Jaguar following a foul. One of the most boring matches you will ever see, with the rudos controlling the final ten minutes of the match and doing so terribly. A must skip and a half.

Avispa Dorada, Marcela, Sanely defeated Amapola, La Comandante, Metálica two falls to one after Marcela pinned Amapola with a roll up. Avispa Dorada was in La Vaquerita, but unfortunately wasn’t allowed to do much. Match was still more interesting than the previous one (despite another long heat sequence), mostly because Sanely was active and had some decent moments. Still forgettable overall though.

Ephesto, Luciferno, Misterioso Jr. defeated Fuego, Guerrero Maya Jr., Kráneo two falls to one after Luciferno pinned Kráneo. How much did this match lose me? So much so that I missed who won the match and had to go back to check! Man this was such a waste of time it should’ve made RAW.

Ángel de Oro, Niebla Roja, Soberano Jr. defeated Hechicero, Templario, Terrible two falls to one after Soberano pinned Terrible with a tornillo. An honest to Grodd good match that almost was even better before a few communication snafus. Even still the effort was really strong from all six luchadores, with Soberano, Templario and Hechicero having really strong nights. Interesting to see Soberano pin Terrible, who is arguably higher on the food chain. No match was set up from that though.

Bestia del Ring, Carístico, Último Guerrero defeated Diamante Azul, Mephisto, Valiente…I’m not even sure in how many falls because this match was such a mess it was hard to follow. Mephisto ended up getting carried out injured before the match was up and the rest wasn’t much better. Afterwards the UG and Bestia challenged Diamante Azul and Valiente to a Tag Team Championship match, so we al have that to look forward to. Joy.
