Tonight’s CMLL Puebla show featured two singles match, one of which was an Apuesta match. It still sucked anyway. If you were spared watching this show because you’re living a better life than the rest of us, here’s what you missed.
Espíritu Maligno & Fuerza Chicana defeated Astro & Asturiano two falls to one after Chicano submitted Astro with a modified surfboard and Asturiano was counted out. In the words of Immortan Joe, MEDIOCRE! Astro was really good at the start of the match, but it was all downhill once the rudos took over in fall two and never let up.
Magnus & Rey Samuray defeated Toro Bill Jr. & Tyson La Bestia two falls to one after Samuray submitted Toro Bill and Magnus pinned Tyson with La Casita. A below average match that wasn’t worse only because Magnus, Rey Samuray and Toro Bill are miracle workers. They did what they could given the limitations (and Tyson La Bestia) to make this watchable. It didn’t work because Tyson La Bestia is abysmal, but at least they tried!
Metálica defeated Marcela in a Lightning Match at a little over five minutes. The finish came after Metálica pinned Marcela following a Rush Driver. A quick match but a decent, hard hitting one. Marcela was solid and Metálica came out of this looking terrific thanks to the finish. The Mexican National Women’s Champion issued a challenge to Marcela after the match (presumably for Marcela’s CMLL World Women’s Championship) and Marcela accepted while having a neckbrace applied. Good set up to what should be a good match next week.
Rey Bucanero, Shocker, Templario defeated Guerrero Maya Jr., Stigma, Titán two falls to one after Templario pinned Stigma after Pancake Press and Bucanero pinned Maya with a roll up. Solid, unspectacular match for Shocker’s “highly anticipated” return. The technicos tried hard given the location, the rudos didn’t mess anything up and not a single thing about this match stood out other than a few suicide dives.
King Jaguar defeated Policeman two falls to one in a hair vs. hair match. The finish came, and I’m not making this up, when Jaguar fouled Policeman, acted like he was fouled and referee Bestia Negra decided King Jaguar was fouled. Only in CMLL Puebla! Match was exactly what you’d expect; there was a bit more effort than usual but the action was overall quite mediocre. Plus you knew who was winning the moment King Jaguar came out with frosted tips. Was he really going to shave those off after getting them? I think not!
Ephesto, Mephisto, Volador Jr. defeated Carístico, Cuatrero, Sansón two falls to one after Volador pinned Carístico with a Small Package following Mephisto unmasking him. Carístico challenged someone after the match and oh my goodness who the hell cares? This was the usual low quality Puebla main event, with minimal effort and nothing of importance that occurred. Can the AAA show get here already?Miss
