I decided to combine two of my favorite things tonight; watching lucha libre and Buffy the Vampire Slayer at the same time. This was a good move because Buffy, as always, was great while CMLL Puebla was, as always, CMLL Puebla. Aka it was mediocre as holy hell. If you were out while it was going on, here’s what happened!

Astral, Lestat, Pantera Blanco defeated Gemelo Pantera I, Gemelo Pantera II, Policeman two falls to one after Lestat pinned Policeman following a Swanton Bomb. Nothing happened for the first two falls and then things got comically bad in the end after a terrible sequence between Astral and all the Pantera’s. I’m still laughing. Only Policeman and Lestat left their match with their dignity still intact.

Lluvia, Marcela, Skadi defeated Dalys, La Comandante, Tiffany two falls to one after Marcela pinned Dalys following a Nail in the Coffin. Decent but forgettable match; the biggest news appears to be Dalys and Marcela are feuding again, coupled with Skadi not hurting herself or anyone else! Lluvia showed some ability in fall one that made me wonder if she’d be fun to watch if she was paired with the AAA luchadoras every week instead of the CMLL luchadoras. Not counting Avispa Dorada of course.

Drone, Kráneo, Stigma defeated Dragón Rojo Jr., Pólvora, Tyson La Bestia two falls to one after Kráneo pinned Rojo following a Hip Drop. Another match that was hysterically bad at times. No one seemed able to be in the right place for any of Drone’s spots (Pólvora had a rare missed catch with him late in fall three) and there were moments I could’ve sworn Tyson La Bestia was Bestia del Ring. Rojo and Kráneo tried, but there was little they could do to salvage this.

Cuatrero, Forastero, Sansón defeated Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero two falls to one after the UG unmasked Sansón for the DQ. Not as good as it would’ve been in Arena Mexico but still pretty fun. The UG was great both in ring and on the apron cheering on his teammates, the Dinamitas were reliable as usual and both Euforia and Gran Guerrero had some nice fall three moments. There should be more match ups coming too as Sansón issued a challenge to the UG after the match.

Rush defeated Carístico two falls to one after Rush faked getting fouled by Carístico. Yup; that’s how it ended! The match wasn’t bad but it was also too short to be anything substantial. In other words, your typical CMLL Puebla main event!
