Did you miss CMLL’s Arena Puebla show tonight? If you did, YOU WERE SO LUCKY! I was not as fortunate and saw the whole thing. Here’s what happened.

Astro, Millenium, Rey Samuray defeated Black Tiger, El Perverso, Sombra Diabólika two falls to one after the technicos pinned all three rudos following a Springboard Splash (Astro), a 450 (Millenium) and a moonsault (Samuray). Technicos gave a really good effort here to make this match more watchable than usual, but the match was only slightly better than the usual CMLL opener.

Halcón Suriano Jr., Robin, Tigre Rojo Jr. defeated El Malayo, Policeman, Toro Bill Jr. two falls to one after Rojo submitted Malayo with a Rolling Armbar. Yet another strong team performance from the technicos. All three guys were allowed to do more than usual, with Rojo hitting a great tornillo at the end of the second fall and Suriano (the former Stukita) doing great throughout. By Puebla standards this was pretty solid, even with the rudos doing nothing more than basing.

Super Muñeco, Super Pinocho, Super Raton defeated El Gallego, Rocky Santana, Romano Garcia two falls to one. The less said about this very sad bout, the better.

Ephesto, Luciferno, Mephisto defeated Niebla Roja, Stigma, Stuka Jr. two falls to one after Luciferno pinned Roja with a Styles Clash. That’s right; Luciferno pinned Roja and then challenged him to a match afterwards! So much for this being just another match. Action was respectable but nothing special, though Luciferno vs. Roja is at least interesting.

Rush, Vangellys, Villano IV defeated Euforia, Kráneo, Valiente two falls to none after Euforia fouled Rush for the DQ. They’re really going all in building up that match on Friday, though Villano getting on the mic afterwards suggests there may be something next week as well. Match was otherwise nothing special.
