The Caveman is coming to the UK! English promotion Revolution Pro Wrestling has announced that CMLL luchador Cavernario will be taking part in the British J Cup tournament that starts on November 24th. Cavernario is the fourth entry in the tournament, joining Robbie Eagles, The Amazing Red and El Phantasmo.
Originally part of Pro Wrestling Guerilla’s Battle of Los Angeles tournament, Cavernario was pulled by CMLL in what originally looked to be a booking conflict (it now appears more likely that CMLL pulled Cavernario to keep him from working with AAA stars Fenix and Pentagon Jr., though that isn’t confirmed). There will be no such worries here as Revolution Pro and CMLL are both partners with New Japan Pro Wrestling, opening the door for Cavernario to make his first appearance for the UK promotion. It should be a memorable one; the soon to be 26 year old luchador has become one of CMLL’s top stars over the past two years and has made strong impressions in both Japan and the US for New Japan Pro Wrestling, Ring of Honor and other US indies during that time. He should fit right in with this already talented field and a strong showing could cement his claim of being the best luchador in the world.
Revolution Pro’s British J Cup begins on November 24th in London’s York Hall. Tickets are currently on sale.
