In a stunning turn of events, it appears Willie Mack will be returning to AAA. SoCal Uncensored moments ago tweeted out a AAA poster featuring Mack for the May 31st show in Tijuana. This will be Mack’s first appearance for AAA in years; his last listed appearance for the promotion is in 2013 where he teamed with Crazy Boy and Joe Lider to defeat AR Fox, Dr. Cerebro and Eterno at an Arena Naucalpan, though it’s possible he was booked for the promotion in late 2015/early 2016.

This news will come as a shock following the events of earlier this week. As previously reported by SoCal Uncensored and us here at Lucha Central, Willie Mack was strongly considered seeking legal counsel to get out of his Lucha Underground contract after LU (through AAA boss Dorian Roldan) sent a cease and desist to both Ring of Honor and the NWA. Mack had been the NWA National Champion until losing the title to Colt Cabana at the Crockett Cup this past Saturday night, and it was thought he lost the title because Lucha Underground was attempting to block Mack from working both ROH and NWA. Speculation was that Lucha Underground was using their contract with Mack to try and keep him out of The Crash, AAA’s rival promotion, and to encourage him to work for AAA instead. This however has been denied by Mack’s girlfriend on Twitter.

Lucha Central will keep you updated should any further information become available.
