AAA’s last show before Triplemania XXVII will feature a healthy dose of All Elite Wrestling. Four months after his appearance at Rey de Reyes, AEW talent and Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes will make his official AAA debut in Aguascalientes, teaming with fellow AEW talent MJF (Maxwell Jacob Friedman) to take on Brian Cage and Taurus. The match will play into an angle from Rey de Reyes where Taurus attacked Rhodes, and could potentially set up a future singles match between the two, though nothing has been confirmed. This will be the first ever AAA match for both Rhodes and MJF; both have previous wrestled in Mexico for The Crash, while Rhodes also worked dates in Mexico during his WWE run.

While this will be the big crossover match for American fans, this AAA vs. AEW match will follow the lead of the Lucha Brothers vs. Young Bucks from Verano de Escandalo in not headlining the show. The actual main event will see Dr. Wagner Jr. and Blue Demon Jr. collide one last time before their Triplemania match, as Demon teams with Los Mercenarios members Rey Escorpión and Texano Jr. to battle Wagner, Psycho Clown and Pentagon Jr. in a rare non Lucha Brothers appearance (his partner and AAA Mega Champion Fenix is not booked for the show). The rest of the card will feature Aerostar, Laredo Kid and Puma King battling Averno, Chessman and Daga in an exciting undercard bout, Faby Apache, Taya and Niño Hamburguesa taking on new AAA Reina de Reinas Champion Keyra, Tessa Blanchard and Dave the Clown, Golden Magic teaming with Lady Shani to face Villano III Jr. and Los Mercenarios member La Hiedra, and Big Mami teaming with Eclipse and Dinastia against Mami’s rival Lady Maravilla, La Parka Negra and Eterno. A trios match featuring Aguascalientes locals (Dark Finder, Discovery and Marvel vs. Rey Sombra, Trihan and Xtreme X) will open the show, though it’s unknown if it will stream on Twitch.

AAA’s taping from Aguascalientes will take place July 18th, starting at 9 P.M. Eastern Standard Time; as always, the show will be available on Twitch with English and Spanish commentary. Lucha Central will provide full coverage of the event.
