After what may have been their biggest show of the year last night (one that left fans with more questions than answers) CMLL has released their card for next week’s Super Viernes. Unfortunately it looks to answer none of the questions, though the card looks pretty good. The main event will be newly turned technico Matt Taven teaming with Volador Jr. and King Phoenix (Fenix) to take Los Ingobernables members Rush, El Terrible (provided he’s okay after last night’s injury scare at The Crash) and Bestia del Ring. Rush attacked Volador last night after his clash with Taven before Taven made the save, but it looked to be little more than an angle to set up Taven’s technico turn (Volador is of course the cousin of Rush’s rival LA Park, which could mean this is further build to that). Never the less this will surely now start speculation that Taven could be involved in the Aniversario main event.

Nothing else on the card stands out as leading in that direction. Penta Zero M will be back, teaming with Ultimo Guerrero and Euforia in the semi-main event against Caristico, Mistico and Diamante Azul, which could set up Penta vs. Caristico for August 17th. Below them Hechicero and Valiente battle in a Lightning Match, which unfortunately has the distinction of being sandwiched in between the semi-main and a potentially show stealing third match where Flyer, Soberano Jr. and Titan take on Cavernario, Felino and Negro Casas. The luchadoras return in the second match with Marcela, Mystique and Jarochita taking on Amapola, Reyna Isis and Dalys, while the opener features Oro Jr. and Star Jr. against Akuma and Espanto Jr., the latter whom may be the only luchador keeping this from being good.

CMLL Super Viernes will be live next week at 9:30 p.m. EST on Marca Claro, Marca Claro’s Facebook page and (hopefully) luchablog’s YouTube page. As always Lucha Central will provide full coverage, with a preview of the show on Thursday and a review of the show, though the live review will likely be postponed due to coverage of AAA as well on Friday night.
