AAA’s crazy year is apparently going to go out on a crazy note. Moments ago Dorian Roldan announced the promotion will be running a show called Triplemania Regia from the near 22K capacity Estadio de Beisbol Monterrey stadium in, you guessed it, Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. The show will take place on December 1st, making it the second to last big AAA show of the year along with Guerra de Titanes, which is currently scheduled for December 14th.
Rumors of a show in Estadio de Beisbol sprouted up last week as part of speculation for a potential final AAA match for Cain Velasquez; the WWE superstar has stated he has one last date on a deal that had him working Triplemania, AAA’s Invading NY show and the now postponed AAA Invading LA show (according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has disputed Velasquez’ ability to work another AAA show). Velasquez wasn’t announced for the show at the press conference, but that will do little to stop speculation of his involvement. The only names announced for the show were Kenny Omega, who will defend his AAA Mega Championship on the show, Blue Demon Jr., LA Park and his sons El Hijo de LA Park and LA Park Jr., who all appeared in person to promote the show. A Park-Blue Demon Jr. match was heavily teased after confrontation between the two, which was preceded by Park calling out Demon, Velasquez and long time rival Rush. While it’s unlikely Rush will wrestle on this event, speculation will surely continue about a potential appearance for both him and brother Dragon Lee; the former CMLL stars have been rumored for AAA since departing Arena Mexico last month.
As stated, AAA’s Triplemania Regia will take place on December 1st from Estadio de Beisbol Monterrey; tickets are on sale now. Lucha Central will provide further updates when a card becomes available.
