One of the longest broadcast partnerships in lucha libre has come to an end today. Four weeks after they were removed from programming, AAA has officially parted ways with Televisa, marking the end of a 27 year relationship between the two sides.

This news comes with little surprise; as stated, AAA had stopped appearing on Televisa recently and a recent deal between AAA and the Space Network months ago had seemingly signaled the end between the two sides. Never the less it was reported AAA and Televisa were still negotiating as late as today to continue a relationship that dates back to AAA’s founding in 1992, when Televisa helped Antonio Pena get the promotion off the ground. Clearly a deal could not be reached.

AAA will continue to air on the Space Network and on Twitch, where they will broadcast a live show a week from today. Lucha Central will keep you updated on this developing story.
